Amethyst was introduced in 1931 and was described by the glass trade as a "burgundy or deep amethyst." In 1935, Cambridge also marketed items frosted on one surface and left "bright" on the other side. Such items made in Amethyst were called by the color name "Grape." Amethyst was the darker than the earlier colors named "Mulberry." |
